Mary Grills, Bev Allarie and Trish Little have been named the winners of a $3.6-million prize after their numbers were pulled in the Feb. 27 draw.

Grills, 63, was already retired, and is being joined by 65-year-old Allaire and 56-year-old Little.
The women found out they had won when Grills’ husband checked the numbers on Saturday night. He told her when she got home from babysitting one of the grandchildren, and Little was called soon after at 11:30 p.m.

For Little, it was the best kind of rude awakening she’d received when Grills called her late Saturday night to share the incredible news.

Little and Allaire were both working the next day, so Grills came to the hospital and Allaire was told by both friends.

“It’s very surreal,” Little said of the win.

Grills said she picked the winning numbers based on her families ages and birthdays nearly 22 years ago, they have played the same numbers since.

Split three ways, the three will each receive $1.2-million.

BCLC said the winning ticket was bought at the McKenzie Esso gas station in Victoria.

There were two winning tickets for the $7.2-million jackpot, the other was sold in Winnipeg.
