“Sleeping Bag Tate” receives Community Service Award

Share

On Friday, 5-year old Tate Parker, known locally as “Sleeping Bag Tate”, received a special Community Service Award from Blanket BC Society co-founders Gregory & Benjamin Ould.

We first brought you the story back in November of young Tate, who took it upon himself to collect sleeping bags over the Christmas holidays and then gave 100 to the homeless!

He asked people to buy new or give used sleeping bag for $1, which he took out of his piggy bank. If the person didn’t want the $1, he gave it to the sleeping bag recipient.

The special Community Service Award was given to Tate at 2:30 pm at Victoria Cool Aid Society’s Mount Edwards Court.
