14th Annual 98.5 Ocean 98.5 Radiothon For Kids

In support of the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation 

  • What: Listen and call in between 6:00am-6:00pm as the team at Ocean 98.5 broadcast live and share in the laughs, tears, success and stories of hope from children and their families who have received and continue to receive treatment at the BC Children’s Hospital.
  • Where: Centennial Square

SATURDAY

Miracle Weekend – Vancouver Island Family Fun Day

  • What: Family FREE event from 11:00-3:00pm in support of BC Children’s Hospital. Superheroes of Victoria and Princess from Enchanted Fables will be on site. Create your own superhero station, bouncy castle, face painting, live music, games, photo booth, petting zoo, colouring contest and so much more!! Food Trucks on site.
  • Where: Centennial Square

3rd Annual The WEEDS Motorcycle Show ‘n Shine

  • What: Fundraiser in support of “Save BC Men in the Fight Against Prostate Cancer.” $10 entry, 5 categories from Custom Built, Custom Cruisers, Stock Metric, Stock North America and People’s Choice. Silent auction and enjoy the Weeds signature burger and beer combo for $20. Event from 12:00-3:30pm
  • Where: Bucky’s Taphouse, 2668 Sooke Road

Western Speedway Hall of Fame Night

  • What: Featuring the Galaxy Motors Stock Cars, Mini Stocks, Dwarf Cars, Old Timer’s Racing Association and Island Powder Coating Machine. Grandstands open 4:30pm

Goldstream Farmers Market

  • What: Opening day! Fresh produce which is homegrown, hand-crafted goods from local artisans, enjoy lunch and baked goods. Live entertainment on site. Market open from 10:00am-2:00pm
  • Where: Veteran’s Memorial Park

James Bay Market

  • What: Quality handmade, homemade and homegrown products for everyone to enjoy. Enjoy locally roasted coffee and seasonal drinks. Kids tent on site offering crafts, games, face painting and fun shops. Market open from 9:00am-3:00pm
  • Where: Corner of Menzies and Superior Street

Moss Street Market

  • What: “Make It, Bake It, Grow It” organic farmers market. Local artisans and chefs offering a selection of their tasty creations. Everything is local and produced by the person at the stall. 10:00am-12:00pm
  • Where: Moss and Fairfield Road

Sooke Country Market

  • What: Fresh local vegetables and fruit, baked treats and breads, jams, plants, flowers and seeds, eggs, crafts, handmade items from local artisans. Market open from 10:00am-2:00pm
  • Where: Otter Point Road and Eustace Road

SUNDAY

Scotiabank MS Walk

  • What: Walk 3km, 6km or 9 km in support of Multiple Sclerosis initiatives. Funds raised will be used for research, local programs and services assisting people living with MS. Prizes to be won, lunch and live entertainment. Early check-in begins on Saturday May 14.
  • Where: Marigold Elementary School

2016 Walk for Muscular Dystrophy

  • What: Walk, wheel, roll or run in support of Muscular Dystrophy Canada. Funds raised will assist in research, resources and provide ongoing support.
  • Where: University of Victoria, 3800 Finnerty Road

Family Sunday at the Art Gallery

  • What: Art activities taking place throughout the gallery. Family art events takes place from 2:00-4:00pm
  • Where: 1040 Moss Street

Oaklands Neighbourhood Garage Sale and Street Party

  • What: This FREE neighbourhood party begins at 10:00am. Over 50 garage sales, food trucks, workshops, live music and parklets. Map of homes participating in this event.
