SATURDAY May 28

Swiftsure International Yacht Race

  • What: Start your morning with a pancake breakfast, served by the Central Saanich Lions Club at 8:00am. The start line will be located between the flag flying at Clover Point to a Royal canadian Navy Kingston-class MCDV (will be anchored). First race begins at 9:00am with subsequent starts to follow every 10mins. Vendors will be available at Ship Point in the Inner Harbour. Silent action starting at 4:00pm, DJ Daddy Mack spinning tunes from 4:00-9:00pm.

Esquimalt Neighbourhood Block Party

  • What: FREE community block party from 1:00-4:00pm to promote the Block Watch Programs with Vic PD and the Block Party initiative. Interactive booths and activities for the children.
  • Where: Esquimalt Recreation Centre

Market on Millstream & Yates Monster Trucks, Freestyle Motocross, Lordco Demo Series & NEXX Financial Claimer Cars

  • What: Car crushing, wheelie popping skills in freestyle Monster Truck action. Keith Sayers team will perform jumps. Demo cars/trucks, mini figure 8’s, bombers and Claimers will complete this action packed night. Grandstands open ay 4:30pm.
  • Where: Western Speedway

TICKETS: $22.50/adults, $20.00/youth and seniors, $14.00/military and kids (7-12yrs), $65.00/family pass (2 adults, 4 kids)

Selkirk Waterfront Festival 

  • What: Multi-cultural family event from 10:00-3:00pm. Activities include family FUNZone, face painting, balloon twisting, duck pond, crafts and more. International food court on site. Live entertainment for all to enjoy.
  • Where: Selkirk Waterfront

The Robert Bateman Centre’s Junior Nature Sketch Club

  • What: Experience art outdoors, guided by a naturalist and sketch artist. Event for children age 5-12 years old, $50/child includes sketch book and pencil and an exhibition at centre. Event from 9:30-11:30am or 1:00-3:00pm. Email marketing@batemancentre.org to register.

Pet Adoption/Customer Appreciation Fundraiser

The Hidden Treasures Sale at Keating Storage

Topaz Hockey Classic Ball Hockey Tourney

  • What: First annual ball hockey tourney begins at 9:00am-7:00pm. 3 vs. 3 and a goalie, 4 total on rink at any given time. Team minimum is 4 and max is 8 (7 players, 1 goalie). Round robin style with playoff games for teams. 19+ event. $175.00/team. Email topazhockey@gmail.com to register.

Moss Street Market

  • What: “Make It, Bake It, Grow It” organic farmers market. Local artisans and chefs offering a selection of their tasty creations. Everything is local and produced by the person at the stall. 10:00am-2:00pm.

Sooke Country Market

  • What: Fresh local vegetables and fruit, baked treats and breads, jams, plants, flowers and seeds, eggs, crafts, handmade items from local artisans. Market open from 10:00am-2:00pm

Swiftsure International Yacht Race

  • What:  Best viewing of finishing yachts is from the breakwater at Ogden Point to the finish line. GVHA’s Harbour Days Market will be located at Ship Point in the Victoria Inner Harbour. The time limit for completing all races is 6:00am on Monday May 30.

Oak Bay Half Marathon, Relay, 10k & Kids 1k

  • What: Cheer on the runners as they run through Oak Bay, along the scenic seaside route of Beach Drive. Expect road closures and traffic delays. First race begins at 7:00am.
  • Where: Starting and finishing line in the shopping district of Oak Bay, route through Oak Bay residential areas and along Beach Drive.

Team 4 Hope – Touch a Truck

  • What: Fundraising event for Neuroblastoma research in B.C. Explore the trucks on site from firetrucks, excavators, dump trucks, police cars and more. Bouncy castle, face painting and activities.
  • Where: Panorama Recreation Centre, North Saanich

TICKETS: $15/family in advance or $20 on site; $10/single.

Market on Millstream & Yates Monster Trucks, Freestyle Motocross, Richlock Rentals Drifters

  • What: Head to head Monster Truck competition, Keith Sayers team will display high flying freestyle motocross jumps and Capital Drifts will show their tire smoking crazy car control. Grandstands open at 1:30pm

12th Annual Camera Swap Meet
