The manhunt for two suspects wanted in connection with a double-shooting in Sooke last Tuesday is over. The duo were arrested at home in Sooke on Sunday night.

RCMP surrounded a home on Kirby Road in Sooke after receiving a tip the two suspects may be hiding out at the residence. Once officers confirmed they were inside, the area was locked down, and Island Emergency Response Team were called in.

With the assistance of a police service dog, Lafleur and a 21-year-old man from Sooke were found hiding in a crawl space.

According to the RCMP, the suspects were unarmed and weren’t communicating with officers, or wouldn’t surrender.

Both men appeared in provincial court this morning.

Last Friday, RCMP launched a full-scale search through Thetis Lake Park after the two fled into the heavily wooded area. The area was on lockdown for several hours as an emergency response team, K-9 unit and police helicopter searched the area. They were able to elude police and the official search was called off. Sooke RCMP confirm two handguns were recovered, one loaded during during that search.

A third suspect, David Dustin Brown, was arrested last week and faces attempted murder charges related to the case.  Lafleur is the suspected trigger man.

The two victims, Travis Twinn and Gordon Thomas, survived the shooting. There are reports Twinn remains in critical condition.
