FRIDAY June 3

54 Annual Oak Bay Tea Party – Midway Opens

  • What: The midway will run at Willows Park on Friday, June 3rd from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wristbands will be available for purchase and use on Friday only.  
  • Where: Willows Beach, Oak Bay

Victoria Shamrocks

  • What: vs. Maple Ridge Burrards. Game time at 7:45pm
  • Where: The Q Centre, 1767 Island Highway

TICKETS: $15/adult, $12.50/senior, $10/ youth and students, $5.50/children 5-12 years old, children under 4 FREE.

SATURDAY June 4

54 Annual Oak Bay Tea Party

  • What: The parade will begin at 10:30am at Windsor Park, the parade will go though the streets of Oak Bay ending at Willows Beach. Shooting Star Amusements midway will begin operating at 11:00am. Enjoy the local bands, gymnastic and dance performances, raffles and so much more. Rescue demonstration at 1:45pm, children’s activities from 1:00-3:00pm. Delicious food on site including the famous pancake breakfast, and Baron of Beef, get there early to not miss out.
  • When: 7:00am-9:00pm.
  • Where: Willows Beach, Oak Bay

Delta 7th Annual Best in Dog Show

  • What: It’s a “Dog Show for Mutts”. Contest for Best Dressed, Best Trick, Cutest Puppy, Most Original Hair and more categories. $20 entry for first event then $10 each additional. Registration begins at 11:30am. All proceeds to benefit the Greater Victoria SPCA.
  • Where: Delta Victoria Ocean Pointe Resort, 100 Harbour Road

Lobsterfest

  • What: Enjoy the freshest lobster all while taking in the great entertainment. Cash bar and dance floor. $75 Admission. Silent auction. Evening event begins at 6:00pm.

Brentwood Bay Festival

  • What: Watch the parade at 10:00am, then take the family to enjoy the live music, comedy acts, dog fashion show, games, face painting and more. Food vendor on site. Hot dogs available for donation, all proceeds to benefit the Central Saanich Volunteer Firefighters. SeaFirst will match donations form this event.
  • Where: Park located behind Central Saanich Library.

The Robert Bateman Centre’s Junior Nature Sketch Club

  • What: Experience art outdoors, guided by a naturalist and sketch artist. Event for children age 5-12 years old, $50/child includes sketch book and pencil and an exhibition at centre. Event from 9:30-11:30am or 1:00-3:00pm. Email marketing@batemancentre.org to register.

Bastion Square Public Market

  • What: This outdoor market is celebrating 20 years. Wonderful selection of locally produced arts, crafts and entertainment. Watch artisans create their crafts on site. Market open from 11:00am-4:30pm

Goldstream Farmers Market

  • What: Fresh produce which is homegrown, hand-crafted goods from local artisans, enjoy lunch and baked goods. Live entertainment on site. Market open from 10:00am-2:00pm
  • Where: Veteran’s Memorial Park

James Bay Market

  • What: Quality handmade, homemade and homegrown products for everyone to enjoy. Enjoy locally roasted coffee and seasonal drinks. Kids tent on site offering crafts, games, face painting and fun shops. Market open from 9:00am-3:00pm
  • Where: Corner of Menzies and Superior Street

Moss Street Market

  • What: “Make It, Bake It, Grow It” organic farmers market. Local artisans and chefs offering a selection of their tasty creations. Everything is local and produced by the person at the stall. 10:00am-2:00pm.

Sooke Country Market

  • What: Fresh local vegetables and fruit, baked treats and breads, jams, plants, flowers and seeds, eggs, crafts, handmade items from local artisans. Market open from 10:00am-2:00pm.
  • Where: Otter Point Road and Eustace Road

North Saanich Farm Market

  • What: Fresh local strawberries, pick up some produced, baked goods, crafts and more. Live music on site. Market open from 9:30am-12:30pm.
  • Where: St. John’s United Church, 10990 W Stanch Road

Peninsula Country Market

  • What: Over 50 vendors on site with farm fresh products, jams and jellies, honey, homemade bread, flowers, fresh meat, organic produce and more. Market open from 9:00am-1:00pm.

SUNDAY June 5

Oak Bay Tea Party

  • What: Shooting Star Amusements midway will begin operating at 11:00am. Enjoy the bathtub races at 1:00pm, air show at 2:00pm, Island Health’s Kids Safety Circuit from 12:00-2:00pm, local band performances, teacup races at 3:00pm, jazzercise at 3:45, raffles draw at 6:00pm. Delicious food on site including the famous pancake breakfast and Baron of Beef. Event takes place
  • When: 7:00am-7:00pm.
  • Where: Willows Beach, Oak Bay

World Oceans Day

  • What: Celebrate the world around you from 11:00am-5:00pm. Learn about the Salish Sea, Victoria’s Inner Harbour and Fisherman’s Wharf. Scavenger Hunt, face paining, see Sammy the Seal, First Nations traditional dancers, silent action and more. Annual Tiny Float Home Tours $10. Funds raised will support local conservation projects and green initiatives at Fisherman’s Wharf.

The Whale Researcher Tour

  • What: This event only happens once or twice a year! As part of World Oceans Day Eagle Wing Tours is offering a special tour with guest Ken Balcomb, Executive Director and Principal Investigator of the Center for Whale Research. Ken is the area’s preeminent orca scientist, and has an endless supply of stories of the individual whales he has been studying for 40 years. $200 per person, with 50% of proceeds donated to The Center for Whale Research for continued research on Southern Resident Killer Whales.

Victoria Goddess Run

  • What: Cheer on the Goddesses this weekend. 5km, 10km and 15km run through the streets on Langford. Entertainment at Westhills Stadium from 9:00am-12:00pm. Expected road closures and traffic delays.
  • Where: Westhills (Langford Parkway, Jacklin Road, Glen Lake Road)

Victoria Stamp & Postcard Fair

  • What: All proceeds to support local school stamp programs. Free stamps for children. Event from 9:30am-4:00pm
  • Where: Comfort Inn (Topaz Room), 3020 Blanchard Street

Social Salsa Sunday

  • What: Free family event, with great music and a lot of fun! Watch the talented salsa dancers and give it a try yourself! Presented by Pachanga Latina. 4:30pm-7pm,  every Sunday til September.

Board Games in the Square
