Are you ready to celebrate Canada’s 149th birthday this Friday? Do you want to be an integral part of the celebrations?
Atomique Productions are looking for volunteers to cover several positions this Friday, July 1st.
The day features an impressive line-up of performances, family-friendly activities, multicultural programming, an international food village, and of course stunning fireworks over Victoria’s Inner Harbour on Friday, July 1, 2016.
Position #1: Family Zone Support
The Family Zone Support for the Victoria Celebrates Canada Day celebration will play a supportive role in the coordination and implementation of activities in the Family Zone. Volunteers will ensure that the Family Zone is a safe and enjoyable experience while working with the Site Manager to assist in the successful implementation of the activity plan and schedule.
Position #2: Site Assistant (Operations)
The Site Assistants for the Victoria Celebrates Canada Day celebration will play a supportive role in the management, set-up, operations, and tear down of the event sites. Tasked with logistical, site and event coordination, the Site Assistants will work directly with the Site Coordinator to assist in the successful implementation of the event plan and schedule. To succeed in this position, you must be comfortable performing manual labour.
Position #3: Stage Hand (Production)
The Stage Hand for the Victoria Celebrates Canada Day celebration will play a supportive role in the management, set-up, operations and tear down of the event stages. Tasked with artist load in, set-up, change-over, strike and load out, the Stage Hand will work directly with the Stage Manager and assist in the successful implementation of the event performance schedule. To succeed in this position, you must be comfortable performing manual labour.
Position #4: Green Team
The Green Team members for the Victoria Celebrates Canada Day celebration will play a supportive role in the management, set-up, operations and tear down of the event waste management plan. Tasked with ensuring a clean site and at-source separation of waste and recyclable materials, the Green Team will work directly with the site management team and assist in the successful implementation of the event waste management plan.
Position #5: Bike Valet
The Bike Valets for Victoria Celebrates Canada Day are key players in the Green Initiative. The valets will have the responsibility of accepting visitors’ bicycles and placing them in order in the valet area. The valet will give the visitor a ticket, and when the visitor returns they will exchange their ticket for their bicycle. The Bike Valets will help ensure that environmentally conscious travelling is easy, efficient and accessible.
