All you need to know about the Strawberry Festival tomorrow: Sunday, July 10

Nothing says summer like strawberries and more than a thousand people are expected to head to Beaver Lake Park on Sunday for the 50th annual Saanich Strawberry festival.

This event originated as a celebration of the agricultural roots of Saanich and has blossomed into a grand festival for all ages.

Enjoy an old style family picnic at the beach or take part in a wide range of free family activities.  The beautiful beach setting at Beaver Lake creates the ideal location for relaxing while you enjoy stage entertainment or you can entertain the kids in the lower children’s section.  Activities and information displays are listed below.

The traditional serving of Strawberries and Ice Cream starts at 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm.  Tickets can be purchased for the strawberries and ice cream from 11:00 am – 2:30 pm at the ticket booth near the main stage area for only 50 cents per serving.

Local artist Fred Dobbs will be sculpting a giant 50th Celebration Sand Sculpture next to the beach area throughout the day.
