Two people are in custody following a shooting along the Gorge Waterway.
Shortly after midnight, Victoria police responded to a call from a man, saying he had been shot while boarding a boat in the Gorge Waterway. Officers and paramedics met the victim at one of the docks off Jutland Road. He was suffering non-life-threatening injuries, and was transported to hospital.
The Gorge Trestle was closed and The Greater Victoria Emergency Response team deployed. The RCMP, Victoria Fire Department and Greater Victoria Harbour Authority responded with their boats.
Two people were taken into custody at approximately 6 a.m. this morning. Victoria Police have stated that criminal charges will likely be laid.
The initial investigation indicates that all individuals involved were known to each other. The boats from the incident have been secured and ISD officers continue to investigate.
Police say they are confident that there are no outstanding suspects. The victim is recovering.
