Bob and Norma Saunders and their family will be passing the car keys to their auto business, Saunders Subaru, to Jim Pattison and his auto group, when the sale of the successful 36-year dealership is completed on Aug. 22, 2016.
“A long-time decision was made easier by the respect and support we have been shown by The Jim Pattison Group. It is important to me and my family that the success of Saunders Subaru lives on, and Jim Pattison and Bill Harbottle have shown that we share the same values regarding local community, customer service, quality as well as a commitment to Subaru,” says Saunders.
The Saunders family plans on continuing their strong support of the community through the Saunders Family Foundation.
“In negotiating the sale, it was of the utmost importance that community initiatives like the Comfy Kids program where a courtesy Subaru Forester is made available for families in need of transportation to and from Vancouver for treatment at BC Children’s Hospital, and the use of the dealership’s sign by donation for community messages, with proceeds benefitting Help Fill a Dream, also continue,” says David Saunders.
With the addition of a few new faces, all of Saunders Subaru’s existing team will remain at the dealership. Daughters Edie and Ruth and son David will work with the new team to assist with the transition over the next few months.
