FRIDAY August 19

Light the Night BBQ

  • What: Head to the Red Barn Market on Vanalman Ave for the benefit BBQ for Light the Night for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada. Buy a Burger, Smokie or Hot Dog, all proceeds will be donated. Event from 11:00am-3:00pm.
  • Where: Red Barn Market, 751 Vanalman Avenue

Tuscany Village BBQ & Party

  • What: Come to the fountain at Tuscany Village for a family-friendly summer party. For a minimum donation of $5, Island Savings will be cooking up some BBQ hot dogs and offering ice cold drinks. There will also be some great summertime games including a Watermelon Eating Contest. All proceeds to benefit the Mustard Seed Food Bank on behalf of The Full Cupboard. Event from 11:00am-3:00pm.

Victoria Street Food Festival Friday Truck-Up

Yogathon

  • What: Pause for a cause and give a child in need the gift of education. Take part in this experience with an amazing lineup of yogathon instructors, macro yoga, onsite vendors, and love music from DJ Rara Avis and YogiTunes.com. Free swag bags for all participants, door prizes will be given for the first ones onsite; a raffle will be held for monthly yoga passes, gift baskets, acupuncture sessions, rock climbing lessons, and more. 9:30am-1:00pm.

North Saanich Food and Farm Festival

  • What: Take part in a farm or winery tour, sample delicious food, enjoy art and music, learn about regional indigenous harvesting, watch dog herding demonstrations and take in the farm life past and present. Start by visiting St. Johns United Church, 10990 W. Saanich between 9:30am-12:30 pm. This is the official starting point of the Festival tour. Pick up your Flavour Trail shopping bag and enjoy.

  • What: Take to the beach and enjoy the sun and delicious food from these local food trucks Deadbeetz and L’Authentique Poutine & Burger from 11:00am-7:00pm.

Sooke Harbour Festival

  • What: Bringing the community together for a day of local artists, local music, local food and friendly kayak and paddle board competition. 10:00am-4:00pm.

Esquimalt Lantern Festival

  • What: Celebrate your community in a magical experience of lights, lanterns, music and dance. Bring own lantern or purchase a handmade balloon lantern at festival. Light procession will move along West Bay Walkway. Event starts runs 5:00pm-10pm.

Salish Sea Lantern Festival 

  • What: Everyone welcome at this event, begins at 7:30pm. Bring a lantern and dress in costume. There will be face painting, balloon art, music, bubbles and illuminated lantern. Children’s lantern procession begins at 8:30pm.

Correction: This Evening Gallery Walk is actually on Aug 27th as part of the Integrate Arts Festival. The Integrate Arts Festival has a lot of events running the entire weekend of Friday Aug 26 to Sunday Aug 28.

SUNDAY August 21

Super Summer Kids Day in Support of BC Children’s Hospital

  • What: Amazing fun filled day hosted by the Superheroes of Victoria in support of the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. Meet your local Superheroes, take a spin in the hamster ball, dunk a superhero in the dunk tank, hang out at the foam party, superhero photo shoot, face painting, imagination station and so much more! Wrap up the day with a live musical performance by David Paul. BBQ on site, will be grilling hot dogs by donation, along with juice and water. Event from 10:00am-3:00pm. Suggested donation for wristbands: $10/adults and $5/kids.
