Local resident steps in to caddy for Mark O’Meara to save the day

Bear Mountain resident and Golf Club member, Ryan Ruedebusch has been living the dream this weekend, stepping up to caddy for Mark O’Meara at the Pacific Links Bear Mountain Championship, whose caddy unexpectedly could not make the trip.

Ryan is part of a four generation family that lives on Bear Mountain. Doreen Sharratt, 88 years “young” is the great grandma who recently shot 86 on the Valley Course.

The once in a lifetime opportunity has been a thrill for Ryan, though being asked to read putts for Mark a few times is, “the most stress I have ever felt on the golf course,” he tells Victoria Buzz.

Mark and Ryan started the final day tied for 5th.
