Police nab fraud suspect after his truck got stuck on a median

A 27-year-old man from Alberta was arrested on suspicion of fraud after using a fake credit card at Langford’s Four Points Sheraton Hotel.

West Shore RCMP were called to the hotel on Wednesday to investigate an alleged fraud. They discovered the card the man used was fake and determined he was still on site.

Officers located the man getting into a pickup truck, and as police attempted to block the vehicle in he sped away. Police did not pursue the vehicle as a chase was deemed too dangerous.

Not long after, the vehicle was spotted stuck on the cement media at McCallum and Leigh roads after nearly striking a flagger. Police moved in and arrested the driver.

The suspect is now facing charges that include fraud and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
