Share

One man was taken into custody following a road rage incident in the usually quiet Brentwood Bay.

The incident began around 1:30 p.m on Wednesday, between two vehicles near Wallace Drive and West Saanich Road . According to a witness, both drivers were signalling to turn left. One made a last-minute decision to go straight and there was almost a collision.

After an exchange of words at the intersection, one driver pulled into a nearby gas station, and the driver of the other vehicle followed. The first driver walked into the service station to make a purchase when he was confronted and attacked by the other driver who followed.

The fight spilled outside and the suspect that had assaulted the other then went into his vehicle and retrieved a stun stick – also known as a cattle prod.

According to police, the stun stick was buzzing and the suspect was threatening to use it, until other people intervened.  He then fled and was picked up by police a short distance away.
