A 17-year-old male from Sooke has died after a single vehicle accident on Sooke Road at Parkland Road.
Sooke RCMP were called to the crash scene at around 10:45 p.m.
A red Acura had left the roadway, overturned, and came to rest upside down in a wooded area near the roadway.
The driver, a male, was outside the vehicle and injured. The only other passenger was trapped inside the vehicle.
Members of Sooke Fire Department and BC Ambulance battled to save the passenger’s life, but sadly he succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The driver was transported to hospital, with significant but non-life-threatening injuries.
The cause of this accident is under investigation by Sooke Detachment RCMP, RCMP South Island Traffic Services and the BC Coroner’s Service.
