Video shows cruise ship list heavily as the vessel approaches Victoria

There was some very tense moments for passengers aboard the cruise ship Carnival Legend as it approached Victoria last week.

The ship began to list heavily to one side for about 3-4 minutes after mechanical malfunction of the starboard azipod.

Things fell on the floors in public places and cabins, as well as water flowed from swimming pools.

The passengers on board were safe and did not suffer any serious injuries, but vessel arrived at Victoria with a delay of two hours due to the several minutes accident, according to Maritime Herald.

After the malfunction of the azipod, the crew reduced speed and succeeded in stabilizing the vessel in several minutes and proceeded to the last port of their cruise.

The cruise ship Carnival Legend has overall length of 293.00 m, moulded beam of 40.00 m and maximum draft of 8.20 m. The deadweight of the ship is 7,089 DWT and the gross tonnage is 85,942 GRT. The ship has 12 decks and capacity for maximum 2052 passengers.
