Whole Foods Market is opening the doors to its new Uptown store on Wednesday, November 2!
We stopped by today for a sneak peek and to sample local faves, Discovery Coffee and Bliss Juice Bar. When the Victoria store opens this month, these will be among dozens of local producers that will be introduced.
There’s also a community butcher, fishmonger, baker and a team of chefs creating prepared, grab-and-go meals.
One of the highlights of the new location is “Fin & Pearl,” an in-store dining venue serving fresh, local seafood including oysters, mussels and clams with frites, as well as several local beers and ciders on tap.
The company has a strong policy of not stocking any products that contain hydrogenated fats or artificial colors, flavors, preservatives or sweeteners, while supporting suppliers of “Responsibly Grown” produce.
The 40,000 square foot store is located in the Uptown Shopping Centre, 3587 Blanshard Street. This is the first Whole Foods Market on Vancouver Island and the twelfth store location in Canada.
To celebrate opening day, there will be a “Bread Breaking Ceremony” with team members, community leaders, customers and neighbours starting at 8:30 am. Doors open and shopping begins at 9 am.
