The Industry Outlook Profiles include descriptions of the 58 featured industries and provides the most up-to-date information on projected industry employment growth and job openings for our region.
It is based on the British Columbia 2025 Labour Market Outlook. The industry profiles are a can be a valuable resource for educators, counsellors, students and their families in making decisions regarding education and skills training.
By 2025, BC can expect 934,000 job openings, with Vancouver Island/Coast expecting 147,900. Two-thirds of these will be a result of retirements. Over a third will require a bachelor, graduate or professional degree. An even larger share – about 42 percent – will require diploma certificates or trades apprenticeship training.
