New Tsawwassen Mills shopping mall eyes Vancouver Island customers as it opens this Wednesday

The brand new Tsawwassen Mills mega-mall opens this Wednesday, October 5th on the Lower Mainland, and the marketing people there have shown more than a passing interest in targeting Vancouver Island customers, right from the start.

The new shopping centre will open with about 200 stores, including Bass Pro, West49, a Canucks Team Store, a Nike Outlet and Harry Rosen.  The complete stores list is HERE. The Delta Optomist provided a sneak peak on Thursday with a 43-image pictorial.

The mall is advertising locally here in the Times Colonist, but perhaps their most aggressive marketing tactic is a free transportation option – a shuttle bus from the BC Ferry terminal to the mall and back.   The 42-passenger ferry shuttle runs 7 days per week, from 10am to 9pm most days (7pm Sundays) to deliver shoppers from Victoria as well as Nanaimo directly to the stores.

According the to Tsawwassen Mills Facebook page, the first 100 shuttle passengers this week will receive free tote bags and gift cards.
