Now that it’s October you have no excuse, you simply must start carving your pumpkins and get into the Halloween spirit! Fall activities are incomplete without a visit to your local farm to pick a big, bright pumpkin for your porch decor or a delicious fall gourd-themed dish.
No two pumpkins are the same, the question is where to get the perfect pumpkin in our fine city? Here are a few of our faves to get you started on your hunt.
Galey Farms

Galey Farms Pumpkinfest is great fun for the whole family and a perfect time to pick your pumpkin! Featuring live entertainment, face painting, kids games, hay rides, u-pick pumpkins, train rides, corn maze, playground, petting farm, children’s haunted house and fantastic seasonal displays. Galey Farms and fall basically go hand-in-hand. This annual event is running October weekends 8th & 9th, 15th & 16th, 22nd & 23rd, and 29th & 30th from 10am-4pm.
Michell Brother’s Farm
At the Michell Bros Farm on Island View Road, you can pick your own pumpkin and load up on lots of other fresh local eats like blackberries, blueberries, and local eggs. The market is open 8:30-5:30, 7 days a week.
Pendrays’s Corn Maze
After finding your way out of the 14-acres of corn maze, make sure to grab your pumpkin! The corn maze is open Thursday to Sunday from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. If you need to pick one up during the off time, head up the road to 9469 West Saanich Road.
Sluggett Farms
Sluggett Farms will also have a ton of pumpkins to choose from at their stand. Located at 6881 West Saanich Road, Brentwood Bay. They are open daily.
Silver Rill Corn
Silver Rill Corn always have plenty of pumpkins at their market in Central Saanich. They also have lots of other produce and are one of the only farms that have amazing sweet corn still available. 7117 Central Saanich Road, Saanichton. They are open 9am-5pm, 7days a week!
Mar Farm | The Pumpkin Farm Stand
Stop by the Mar Farm Pumpkin Patch Farm Stand located at 7120 Veyaness Road, Saanichton. They’re open every day from 9am-5pm, except for Monday. Lots of bright pumpkins!
