It’s good news for organic food worshipers as Vancouver Island’s first Whole Foods Market is set to open at Uptown on November 2.
The specialty American supermarket chain announced its plans to expand in Western Canada in February 2015. The Victoria store will be the sixth Whole Foods location in BC.
The store located at the corner of Blanshard and Ravine will be 40,000 square feet, and employ 150 people.
Whole Foods specializes in organic and natural foods including a hot and cold salad bar, sushi station, deli including sandwiches and fresh salads.
The Austin, Texas-based grocery giant has 403 stores employing 87,000 people in three countries — 384 in the U.S., 10 in Canada and nine in the U.K.
