Day of the Dead Fiesta

  • What: The 5th Annual Day of the Dead Fiesta with music from Bučan Bučan and others, dancing, tacos, cerveza! Costumes are encouraged!
  • When: Friday Nov 4, 8 PM – 1:30 AM

Small Treasurers at the Coast Collective Art Centre

  • What: In celebration of the Winter Holidays, Coast Collective are hosting their Annual Small Treasures Show, designed to provide smaller fine art pieces that are perfect for gifting!
  • When: Nov 2nd until 20th, Wed-Sun, 11 AM –  5PM
  • Where: Coast Collective Art Centre, #103-318 Wale, Colwood

Blu Smith – Solo Exhibition – Rage, Rage, Against the Dying of the Light

  • What: World-renowned artist Blu Smith presents his powerful light-filled pieces inspired by the poem, “Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night.” Blu’s work captures the “fleeting moment where the light burns with intensity or smolders with the glow of an ember.”
  • When: Nov 3 – 14, 10 AM – 5:30 PM, with Blu in attendance Saturday, Nov 5, 1-3 PM.
  • Where: The Avenue Gallery, 2184 Oak Bay Avenue

Lethbridge Hurricanes vs. Victoria Royals

  • What: Victoria Royals vs. Lethbridge Hurricanes
  • When: Friday Nov 4, puck drops 7:05 PM

Mount Doug Secondary School 85th Anniversary Celebrations

  • What: The Mt Doug Secondary School 85th Anniversary Celebrations on November 4th and 5th 2016 are open to all alumni, students, staff and community from the past 85 years. Reconnect and reminisce through the years with former classmates, see how your school has changed, visit with current students, enjoy the music!
  • When: Friday Nov 4, 6:30 PM to 9:30PM
  • Where: Mount Douglas Secondary School
  • Admission: $15 @ the door. Students are $5

Beyoncé & JAY Z tribute night

  • What: Beyoncé & JAY Z tribute night with prizes, DJ Low & Alex Davies and requests!
  • When: Friday Nov 4, doors 10 PM
  • Where: Lucky Bar, 517 Yates St.
  • Admission: $10 for the first 50 | $12 for the next 50 | $15 for the last 50. Available at Lyle’s Place and Ticket Zone.

The Empire Has Landed!

  • What: Empire Donuts is having it’s Grand Opening party! The 501st Storm Trooper Legion will be on hand to entertain the kids, there’ll be live music and a special Storm Trooper Donut. All the proceeds of sale of those donuts will go to The Mustard Seed. Bring a non-perishable food donation for the Mustard Seed Food Bank and receive a free coffee!
  • When: Saturday Nov 5, 9 AM – 1:00 PM

Intuitive Arts Festival

  • What: This two-day festival brings together psychics, energy healers, alternative medicine practitioners and spiritual seekers from all across Vancouver Island. Over 44 exhibitors, Psychic Readings, Massage, Reiki, Rocks&Gems, Mediumship and more. Included in admission are 20 workshops happening throughout the weekend.
  • When: Nov 5 – Nov 6, 11:30 AM – 5 PM
  • Where: James Bay Community School, 140 Oswego Street.
  • Admission: $10 admission, tickets @ the door or online.

TeenFest

  • What: A one day event for teens ages 12-18 and their families, with everything that a teenager would want under one roof! Dance, music, free makeovers, a teen talent contest, as well as exhibitors ranging from; education and careers, health and well being, beauty and fashion and more.
  • When: Saturday, Nov 5, 11 AM – 4:30PM
  • Where: Pearkes Recreation Centre, 3100 Tillicum Rd
  • Admission: FREE 

Juan de Fuca 55+ Activity Center Craft Fair

  • What: Get started on your Christmas shopping, browse the 25+ tables of items lovingly and artfully made by members. Traditional craft items such as quilting, knitting, weaving, jewelry, home preserves, greeting cards, decorations (Christmas and general), paper tole, woodworking, pottery and much more. Make sure you check out the baked goods table and pick up some surprise gifts for just a loonie.
  • When: Saturday and Sunday, Nov 5th and 6th, 9 AM – 3 PM both days
  • Where: Juan de Fuca 55+ Activity Center, 1767 Island Highway – Building 3
  • Admission: FREE but cash or cheque only to purchase items

  • What: Carmanah embraces the energy of Canada’s beautiful west coast. Known for connecting with audiences of all ages and musical preferences, the band delivers an eclectic sound that incorporates elements of folk, funk, rock and reggae. A must-see in Victoria!

Walking the Boundary Layer – Guided Walk

  • What: Join CRD Regional Parks guest naturalist, Kem Luther, on a voyage to the Boundary Layer. Learn about mosses, lichens, mushrooms, and small vascular plants in the forests of the Pacific Northwest and how they shape the ecosystems. Ages 12+.
  • When: Sunday Nov 6, 2 PM – 4 PM
  • Where: Meet at the Nature Centre off Munn Road, Francis/King Regional Park.
