What a nail biting game!

In a nutshell, Victoria Royals were up 2-0 when Everett Silvertips scored on a 4-minute power play with minutes left in the game making it 2-1. The Royals were able to kill off the remaining time of the latter half of the penalty to take the victory.

The Royals played a strong team game against the Silvertips on Wednesday night and evened the best-of-seven series 2-2.

Victoria’s Matthew Phillips sent a slick pass from behind the net to Dante Hannoun who buried the puck past Everett netminder Carter Hart for the game-winner late in the middle frame. The Royals’ Regan Nagy energized the crowd in the first period when he batted a puck out of mid-air from the slot to open the scoring.

Everett’s lone marker was tallied by Patrick Bajkov on the man-advantage late in the third period.

Royals’ netminder Griffen Outhouse was solid all night and earned first star honours as he stopped 30 of the 31 shots fired his way. Silvertips’ Hart turned aside 18 of the 20 pucks directed at him.
