30-storey building could fill in the former Hudson’s Bay parkade

Richmond-based Townline, the developer of the Hudson District, is pitching a 30-storey building to the City of Victoria.

If approved, the high rise would become the largest building on the Island.

The building will be located on the corner of Blanshard and Herald streets – the former location of the Hudson’s Bay parkade. The parkade was torn down last year.

The current largest building is a 27-storey condo in Nanaimo, known as the Beacon.

Victoria’s current tallest building is the 21-storey Promontory at Bayview Place in Vic West.

Townline will hold information sessions on April 5 at the retail space of Hudson Walk I along Herald Street.
