A police search ensued this morning after an incident in a house near Willows Beach.
The house on Esplanade Avenue was seen being cordoned off with police tape and authorities commenced a search of the surrounding area.
Two schools nearby – Willows Elementary and Glenlyon Norfolk School – were temporarily placed on lockdown, while the search was ongoing. The lockdown has since been lifted.
Update: Oak Bay police confirm a woman in her 40s was seriously injured after an intruder attacked her with a machete in her home at around 7 a.m. Tuesday morning.
It is believed to be a random attack.
The suspect is still at large. He is described as a heavy set man in his 20s. He was wearing a brown jacket, dark pants with a blue and white handkerchief on his neck.
