The sun is shining and this weekend is full of events! From monsters trucks crushing cars to trains going round and round, here are 11 things to do in Victoria this weekend, Saturday, May 27 and Sunday, May 28.

The WEEDS Motorcycle Show n Shine

  • What: The WEEDS are hosting their annual Motorcycle Show n Shine to raise funds here on Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands for prostate cancer research and education for B.C. men and their families. This year there will be seven categories to be judged, everybody`s favourite Marmot, celebrity judges, silent auction and much more!
  • When: May 27 from 12 PM – 3:30 PM
  • Where: Bucky’s Taphouse at 2668 Sooke Rd

Selkirk Waterfront Festival 2017

  • What: This free and fun-filled family event offers something for everyone. Enjoy exciting activities in the Family FUN Zone, world cuisine in the international food court, and unique arts and crafts in our colourful street market.  There will also be live music and dancing! Come join us for some great entertainment and activities!
  • When: Saturday, May 27, 2017 – 10:00am – 3:00pm
  • Where: Waterfront Crescent – Selkirk Green Park (just steps away from Gorge Rd East and Jutland Rd)

Swiftsure International Yacht Race

  • What: Head down to the docks. Harbours Days Market will be open with over 28 vendors. Arts, crafts and more will be available at 12:00 pm. Captain Jack Sparrow will entertain dockside with Scarlett from 12:00pm-4:00 pm.
  • When: Friday, May 26 to May 28 The weekend schedule available online.
  • Where: Victoria Inner Harbour

Canada 150 Event at Fort Macaulay

  • What: Esquimalt’s Fort Macaulay Historic Interpretation Event will take place at scenic Macaulay Point Park. The public is invited to attend this event, which forms part of the Township of Esquimalt’s Canada 150 celebrations.
  • When: Saturday, May 27, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m
  • Where:  Macaulay Point Park in Esquimalt

Monster Trucks and Freestyle Motocross

  • What: Rock Star, California Kid, Pound Hound, Reverse Racer, Deogee and Identity Theft will battle it out in head to head Monster Truck action! Jet City FMX will be showing odd their high flying freestyle motocross jumps, and more!
  • When: Saturday, May 27, grandstands open at 5:30 pm and action begins at 7:00 pm. Shows available on Saturday and Sunday.
  • Where: Western Speedway
  • Tickets: Available online or purchase at the Market on Millstream.

Embrace The Legion

  • What: Embrace the legion and give back to them, as they give so much to our community. There will be: Breakfast from 9-12 Garage sale/silent auction 11-3 Family friendly backyard BBQ party 12-close. Bottle drive until 9-3. Bring the whole family down! Something for everyone including activities for the kids! All funds from this all day event will be put towards helping the legion.
  • When: Sunday, May 28 at 9 a.m.
  • Where: The Royal Canadian Legion Br #54 – Sooke – 6726 Eustace Road

Victoria Drum Fest

  • What: The festival features world class drummers presenting educational drum set performances. The line up includes, Murray Creed (Victoria – Educator), Pat Petrillo (New Jersey – Broadway/Educator), Spencer Bowman (Nanaimo – Educator/Drummer for The Body Public), Dafnis Prieto (Cuba – Gammy nominated drummer) and Chad Wackerman (Los Angeles – Frank Zappa/Allan Holdsworth).
  • When: Sunday, May 28th – 12:30pm – 5:30pm (doors open at 12:15)
  • Where: Victoria Marriott Inner Harbour – 728 Humboldt Street
  • Tickets: $40 or $50 at the door. Available in advance at Groove Studios, Long & McQuade and Tom Lee Music

Touch a Truck

  • What: Children and their families are invited to get behind the wheel and explore trucks of all kinds, including firetrucks, police cars, excavators, dump trucks, the list goes on!New this year is an appearance by Games2U and the Hamster Ball Track!! Stay and feed your family at the Touch A Truck BBQ!
  • When: May 28th, 2017 from 11AM-3PM
  • Where: Panorama Recreation Centre | 1885 Forest Park Drive in North Saanich

Power to Play

  • What: Check out the action at Power To Play as teams race for the finish line in their efforts to raise $185,000 in support of Power To Be.
  • When: Sunday, May 28th from 10:30 am to 2 p.m.
  • Where: Elk/Beaver Lake Park Beaver Beach is the event hub

Victoria Train Model Show

  • What: Watch trains go in circles and take a few things home with you.
  • When: Sunday, May 28 from10 am until 4 pm
  • Where: West Shore Curling Rink at Juan de Fuca Recreation Centre, 1767 Island Highway
  • Tickets: Family – $ 14.00 Adult – $ 7.00 NMRA/PNR Members – $ 6.00 Youth (11-16) – TBA $ 3.00 Children (8 and under) – Free when accompanied by an Adult.
