Quick! Get outside and enjoy this summer-like weather because it’s about to change according to Environment Canada.

The weather agency has issued a weather alert, warning of thunderstorms and heavy downpours across the region later today.

“A warm, humid southerly flow of air over the south coast today will combine with an approaching Pacific cold front to create favourable conditions for thunderstorm development over the Lower Mainland by this evening. It’s possible a few of these storms will cross the southern tip of Vancouver Island as well,” the statement reads.

The thunderstorms are set to arrive later this afternoon, bringing with them 15 to 25 mm of rain alongside the risk of some hail.
