This August, the organizers of Laketown Ranch are putting on a show that’s bigger and better than ever before – we’re obviously talking about Sunfest Country Music Festival!
You may have already seen some posters about the event and were wondering what it’s all about. So without further ado, here are 8 things you need to know about Sunfest!
1 – The Festival is 4 Days Long!
The star-studded festival has a lineup that spans 4 days – August 3rd – 6th. You won’t want to miss any of it, so plan your time off work accordingly!
2 – It will take place at Laketown Ranch
The festival grounds have been staked out! Laketown Ranch is a prime location for music-lovers who also want to take a dip in Cowichan Lake – it’s only 5 minutes away. The grounds span all of 172 acres, with enough campsite space to accommodate everyone!
3 – There’s plenty of on-site activities to keep you busy in between sets
Swimming in the lake isn’t your only non-musical activity option at Sunfest. The organizers have set up tons of recreational activities such as beach volleyball, bouncy castles, line-dancing, and flyboards. There’s bound to be something for everyone!
4 – The lineup features several genres of music
Even if you don’t like country music, stick around for other genres such as blue grass and rock n’ roll. As with activities, the musical lineup has something in store for everyone!
5 – You won’t have to sacrifice your creature comforts!
For an outdoor music festival, the amenities at Sunfest are surprisingly advanced. After a whole day of jamming out, you’ll be able to relax in a quiet, peaceful campsite, with a full-flush toilet and shower just around the corner!
6 – The main stage is the largest permanent outdoor stage in Canada
It’s just one of the three stages at Laketown Ranch, and it’s only an hours drive from Victoria, and 2.5 hours from Vancouver by car!
7 – Children under 12 get in for free!
And a full General Admission pass that gives you access to performances at all three stages for four days, costs just $249! The GA pass for this family-friendly event also includes entry to the Kick-off Party on Thursday.
8 – Cherry on the Cake: Sunfest Gives Back to its Community!
They have their own charity called the Laketown Ranch Benevolence Society. Over the years, they’ve donated over $500,000 to organizations, programs, and people needing support. So feel free to party guilt-free, knowing that your money will eventually end up helping those in need!
