Victoria firefighters are on scene of a fire at a subsidized housing complex on Johnson Street.
The fire at the Briarwood, 1253 Johnson St., is now under control, but fire crews remain at the building.
Heavy smoke was seen coming from the second floor of the building when firefighters arrived shortly after 4 p.m.

A city bus picking in on scene gathering up the residents – it is unclear at this time where they will be taken.
The Briarwood has 21 units and is run by is run by Pacifica Housing.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
