Police have charged two women and one man on the Saanich Peninsula Tuesday, after a significant amount of drugs and weapons were seized during a search warrant.

According to a news release, Central Saanich Police and the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant at a residence in the 7200 block of Veyaness Road.

Police seized quantities of cocaine, marijuana, and several edged weapons, as well as replica firearms.

All suspects were arrested but later released on Promise to Appears and Undertakings with strict conditions.

Drug and weapons related charges will be forwarded to Crown for review and approval.

“The Central Saanich Police Service is concerned when drug trafficking occurs within the community and are acutely aware of the risk to the public as a result of these drugs. This is even more of a concern given the current opioid crisis across the country and within our region. We will continue to target all residences being utilized for the purpose of selling drugs”, stated Deputy Chief Derren Lench.

Police say the search warrant was a result of a lengthy investigation.
