Friday, August 11th

Perseid Meteor Shower Peak Time

  • What: Let the stars do the talking as earth’s most popular meteor shower paints pictures in the sky.
  • When: Peak viewing is Friday night and Saturday before dawn, though in theory it’s visible from July 17 – August 24. Smoke and clouds might disrupt the viewing.
  • Where: Wherever the night-sky is available!
  • Cost: Free

SMALL WORKS Art Show: Meet the artists!

  • What: The launch of the Small Works art show that lasts until September 3rd. The gallery will be open all weekend.
  • When: Friday, August 11th. 7pm-9pm.
  • Where: Coast Collective Art Gallery, 103-318 Wale Rd.
  • Cost: Free

Watch “Spice World” Outdoors

  • What: What a perfect way to spend a summer evening – watching the sunset and an outdoor movie.
  • When: Friday, August 11th – Starts at 9pm
  • Where: Beacon Hill Park, 50 Douglas Street
  • Cost: Free

Ryan Howland Violin Recital

  • What: 18 year old Victorian violinist performing an evening of enchanting music.
  • When: Friday, August 12th. Doors @ 7pm
  • Where: First Metropolitan United Church, 932 Balmoral Rd.
  • Cost: Adult $18. Student $12.

 

Saturday, August 12th

Canada 150 at Bullen Park

  • What: Continue the celebration of Canada 150 with a full day of music, cultural performances, and those beautiful things called food trucks.
  • When: Saturday, August 12th. 10am-6:30pm.
  • Where: Bullen Park, 1151 Esquimalt Road
  • Cost: Free

Pet-a-polooza

  • What: Largest pet festival on the West Coast and most fun you will have with your dog all summer. Over 85 pet related exhibitors, dock diving, bull dog races, fly ball shoes, agility demos, wiener dog races, cool down stations, an off leash adventure park, photo lounges and so much more.
  • When: Saturday, August 12th and Sunday, August 13 10am-4:00pm.
  • Where: NEW LOCATION at St. Ann’s Academy
  • Cost: Free

Touch a Truck

  • What: An annual fundraiser for Southern Vancouver Island Family Child Care Association. There are going to be all types of vehicles for the children to view and discover as well as Victoria Face Painting by Emily, Grover’s Balloons, a Bouncy Castle, Mini Bikes by Motorcross Track, Mascots, Food Trucks, and music by Montgomery Country.
  • When: Saturday, August 12 9:30am-2pm.
  • Where: Western Speedway
  • Cost: $10 for families up to 4. $15 for families over 4 people. $5 single admission.

Free-B: The Outsiders

  • What: Bring your blanket, flashlight & snacks for a free outdoor screening of The Outsiders!
  • When: Saturday, August 12th – Starts at 9pm
  • Where: Beacon Hill Park, 50 Douglas Street
  • Cost: Free

Victoria Harbourcats final game of the season vs Corvallis Knights and first ever West Coast League Championship Series appearance

  • What: It’s the last home game of the season for the Harbourcats. They will play in their first ever West Coast League Championship Series. The remaining one or two games will be played Corvallis.
  • When: Saturday, August 12th – First pitch at 6:35pm
  • Where: Royal Athletic Park
  • Cost: Adult $15.00 Yth / Sr $14.00 Buy tickets online or in person

Sunday, August 13th

Cadboro Bay Festival

  • What: Epic sand sculptures, bouncy castles, activities for kids, food, and fun.
  • When: Sunday, August 13th. 11am-3pm.
  • Where: Gyro beach
  • Cost: Free

Bowker Creek Brush Up

  • What: Join 36 artists as they interact with the public while demonstrating the creation of their art. Enjoy paintings, pottery, sculpture, jewelry, wood turning, and photography. There’s a creation station for kids as well as great live music.
  • When: Sunday, August 13th. 11am-4:30pm.
  • Where: Bowker Creek Park between Hampshire Rd and Oak Bay High School.
  • Cost: Free

Torque Masters Auto Extravaganza

  • What: Over 350 classic and special interest cars, trucks and bikes. Enjoy pancake breakfast from Sidney Lions. There will be door prizes, 50/50 draws to benefit Cops for Cancer, manufactured midway, ride the glide, goodie bags and so much more.
  • When: Sunday, August 13th. 8am-3:00pm.
