A man was taken into custody Friday morning after brandishing a knife at a cyclist who attempted to move a log that appeared to have been purposely placed across the Galloping Goose Trail.
Police were dispatched to the area of the trail near the area of Burnside Road at around 8:45 am.
Confronted With A Knife
The cyclist reported that the man leapt from nearby bushes and confronted her with a knife, while she attempted to move the log.
The cyclist fled and was not physically injured.
Officers located the suspect nearby and took him into custody.
“While our investigation into this incident is ongoing, the man arrested appears to resemble a suspect in a similar call earlier today in which Saanich Police are investigating reports of a similar male throwing rocks at passing cyclists,” said Victoria police spokesman Bowen Osoko.
