Don’t hold your breath (or maybe do), but Victoria’s smoky skies may soon be a thing of the past.
This weekend’s forecast calls for sunny skies on Thursday and Friday, then a mix of sun, cloud, and a chance of showers on Saturday, before a healthy dose of precipitation on Sunday.

Though we won’t know for sure until it happens, experts predict that the mixture of moisture could make the perfect recipe for clear August skies.
The Coastal Fire Centre’s weather forecaster even predicts that the smoke could move out as early as Friday.
Potentially Record-Tying Dryness
If the showers hold off until Sunday, this summer’s dry spell will tie Victoria’s longest-ever at 53 days. Set 31 years ago, the original record dry streak lasted from July 18 to September 8, 1986.
2017’s streak began on June 20.
So, if you’ve been holding off on taking those blood red sunset photos, now might be your last chance!
