We all made it into Rolling Stone! Well… our city did at least.
Rolling Stone sent a production crew to Victoria last month to cover our city, its culture, and the venues that will be used for the 10th annual Rifflandia Festival.
The resulting article and video has just been released!
“Booming Music Scene”
Correspondant Afika Nxumalo profiled Victoria’s Phillips Backyard Weekender and the overall pervasiveness of music in Victoria in a new segment called “The Scene”.
Featuring interviews with Do250’s Jimmy Leitch, The Zone 91.3’s Dylan Willows, and Atomique Productions’ Nick Blasko, the video also shows clips of local act Fintan O’Brien and a sit-down chat with Fortune Killers.
Very excited to share this @RollingStone piece on #Victoria's thriving music and festivals scene! > https://t.co/YTZNKXdKQa@Rifflandia

“Music definitely thrives in this community,” says Nxumalo. “And its location has made Vancouver Island a really special music destination across the country.”
