A fundraiser is happening this weekend for Central Saanich boy with cancer

Share

Back in April, a local Central Saanich family received some devastating news: their 3-year-old boy, Liam, was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer.

His aunt, Lindsay Walper, started a GoFundMe account on April 13th in order to help the family recuperate their costs while they focus on taking care of Liam.

The official diagnosis – malignant glioma diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma – gives little Liam Comboye a life expectancy of just 9-12 months, with treatment.

This Sunday (September 24th), Liam’s family and friends are helping organize a fundraiser to aid the GoFundMe campaign, and raise the remaining $25,000 of the original $50,000 goal.

The event will take place between 12 PM and 2 PM at Centennial Park on Wallace Dr. and is hosted by Island Homes Group and Games2u Victoria.

There will be plenty of food, drinks, and games, and all funds will be used to either help the Comboye family, or be donated to the B.C. Children’s Hospital.
