Police looking for Stadacona Park sexual assault suspect

Victoria police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect in an alleged sexual assault incident in Stadacona Park on Thursday night.

According to police, the woman was walking through the park, in the 1500-block of Pandora Avenue, between Begbie Street and Belmont Avenue, when she was approached by a man she did not know.

“She reported that while she was walking through the park, an unknown male approached her, attacked and then sexually assaulted her,” reads a statement by police.

The woman fought back and was eventually able to break free from the attacker. She fled to safety and called police at about 10 p.m.

Investigators say the woman was not physically injured and are crediting her for taking decisive action.

The male attacker is described by police as white and in his mid-30s, between 5’10” and 6′ tall, and was last seen wearing dark clothing.
