Introduced on Monday, October 2, the introduction of the bicycle fleet was accompanied by the release of the latest version of the free “Ubicycle” mobile app.

U-bicycle bike-sharing service costs $1 per 30-minute block with no annual membership fee.

Dozens of bikes spread across the city

The 160 GPS-enabled, 3-speed U-bicycles have self-locking smart technology are distributed across the city along with a carbon belt drive system and helmets.

According to U-Bicycle’s press release, the bikes will provide “an innovative and convenient mode of transportation for the residents and visitors of Victoria”.

Unlike other traditional bicycle sharing services, U-Bicycles require no fixed bicycle racks. You can simply park them anywhere that’s legal and responsible. All you need is an app!
