This morning, at 7:25 AM, there was a motor vehicle accident in the 1000-block of McKenzie Ave, west of Quadra St.
Vehicles and pedestrians on McKenzie Ave between Saanich Rd and Quadra St are being diverted at the moment, as the area is closed off to all traffic.

A BC Hydro power pole and lines were also affected by the crash, resulting in a power outage in the area – about 2,200 people are affected.

The repairs have not been made yet, as of BC Hydro’s last update at 9:04 AM, and it is unclear how long they will take.
As of now, there have been no reports of injuries resulting from the accident.
UPDATE: BC Hydro crews have partially restored power in the area – the remaining 1372 customers can expect to have their power back by 6 PM.
