Police looking for driver involved in a pedestrian collision

VicPD Traffic investigators are looking to speak with the driver of a vehicle that was involved in a vehicle and pedestrian collision that sent an elderly woman to hospital.

On October 25th, 2017, just after 9:35 pm, officers were called to the intersection of Fort Street and Foul Bay Road for a report that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle.

Upon arrival, officers were met by witnesses who informed them that the victim had already been transported to hospital by ambulance.

Driver “showed concern” but left before police arrived

According to those same witnesses, the driver of the vehicle involved stopped, showed concern for the woman involved and spoke with paramedics, but then departed the scene after the ambulance left, prior to police arrival.

Officers are looking to speak with this man.

The driver of the vehicle involved is described as a Caucasian man, approximately 70-years old, balding with white hair, wearing glasses and a blue jacket. This man’s vehicle is described as a beige sedan.
