Get ready for rain: two storms will hit Victoria this week

Share

Looking for an excuse to spend a day indoors? How about two. A double dose of stormy weather is bringing a whole bunch of rain to BC this week.

According to Environment Canada, “a strong and mild southwesterly flow from the Pacific is maintaining a frontal zone over central coast, [moving] southward today [and] spreading a significant amount of rainfall over the south coast tonight.”

Translation: it’s going to be wet.

Second Storm Arriving Wednesday

The precipitation will taper off on Tuesday, only for a second storm system to arrive on the south coast early Wednesday, bringing wind and heavy rain.

Rainfall and wind warnings may be issued for this second storm. Falling leaves may also block storm drains and combined with significant showers, cause local flooding.

So, if you haven’t dusted off your rain jacket, umbrella, and rubber boots, now is the time!
