UPDATED | Police say the mental health crisis on Lochside Regional Trail, between Saanich Road and Quadra Street, has been successfully resolved.
Saanich Road was reopened just before 10 AM. However, a section of Lochside Trail will remain closed until about noon.
Police were able to deescalate the situation with assistance from the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team.

A section of Saanich Road and a part of Lochside Trail is closed this morning due to a medical emergency.
Saanich Police said they responded to a call for service on the Lochside Regional Trail between Saanich Rd and Quadra St just after 4:50 a.m. on Wednesday morning.
Police are still on scene speaking with a person dealing with a mental health crisis.
“As a result of this ongoing situation the Lochside Regional Trail, between Saanich Rd and Quadra St, is currently closed,” said A/Sgt. Jereme Leslie.
Saanich Rd between Falmouth Rd and Greenridge Crescent has also been closed.
“If this portion of the road or trail is part of your normal commute, please use an alternate route.”
