The intersection of Rithetwood Drive and Royal Oak Drive is closed due to a significant water main break which occurred at about 8 a.m. Monday.
Police said flooding in the area is extensive.
City crews are on scene assessing the damage and conducting repairs.
“With the heavy volume of water, flooding in the immediate area is expected, and the public are urged to avoid the area,” said Saanich police Staff Sgt. Chris Horsley.
“It is not known what has caused this failure.”
Police are urging motorist to use alternative routes.
