21 Christmas craft fairs and markets to check out in and around Victoria

Now that we’ve had our first snowfall of the season, nothing can stop us from being excited about the holidays!

So it’s a good thing we live in a city that’s full of Yuletide cheer and not afraid to show it.

That’s right – the holiday markets and fairs have begun popping up in full swing, so here’s a master list of all the ones we could find:

40th Annual Creative Craft Fair

  • What: Attended by thousands of visitors each year, this fair offers over 125 exhibitors presenting crafts, gourmet food, fine art, photography, clothing, glass art, jewellery, bath and beauty products, woodwork, high quality imports and much more.
  • When: Friday, November 10th, 11 AM – 7 PM
    Saturday, November 11th, 10 AM – 5 PM
    Sunday, November 12th, 10 AM – 4 PM
  • Where: Pearkes Recreation Centre, 3100 Tillicum Rd
  • Admission: $6 per day, or $6.50 for all three days. Free for children under 12.

31st Annual Calico Christmas Market

  • What: Calico Christmas Market celebrates the unique and lively artisan culture on Vancouver Island. Shop over 90 vendors offering high quality handmade items. Bring a food bank donation and enter to win a special prize!
  • When: Friday, November 10th, 5 PM – 9 PM
    Saturday, November 11th, 10 AM – 5 PM
  • Where: Pacific Christian School, 654 Agnes Street
  • Admission: $4. Free for children under 12

Langford Christmas Market

  • What: The Women’s Auxiliary to the Langford Volunteer Fire Association is holding it’s first every Langford Christmas Market! Come do some holiday shopping and have some fun doing it! Live music, 50/50 draw, door prizes and a concession where you can enjoy a coffee, and various food items. All profits go towards supporting the Langford Volunteer Fire Fighting Association.
  • When: Sunday, November 12th, 9 AM – 3 PM
  • Where: Langford Fire Station #2, 3205 Happy Valley Rd
  • Admission: Free

Tillicum Elementary School Christmas Market

  • What: Come do your Christmas shopping and support local small businesses, and the school in the process. Cards, ornaments, jewelry, clothing, raffle prizes, baked goods, and more!
  • When: Saturday, November 18th, 10 AM – 3 PM
  • Where: Tillicum Elementary School, 3155 Albina Street
  • Admission: Free

Christmas Bazaar

  • What: This classic Christmas market features baked goods, jams, quilts, crafts, books, silent auction, jewelry, attic treasures, a childrens’ game zone and more!
  • When: Saturday, November 18th, 11:30 AM – 3 PM
  • Where: St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 680 Courtney Street
  • Admission: Free

Goward House Craft Fair

  • What: This home-based craft fair will feature handmade items made by local artisans, and a delightful tea room for snacks and lunch. You can find goodies like Raggedy Annes, woodworking, jewelry, fabric works, artwork, sock monkeys, childrens’ clothing, soaps, jams, purses, Christmas items and more!
  • When: Saturday, November 18th, 10 AM – 4 PM
    Sunday, November 19th, 10 AM – 4 PM
  • Where: 2495 Arbutus Rd
  • Admission: $2

Victorian Christmas Craft Fair

  • What: Step back to a simpler time and be apart of the celebration of unique, local artisans selling their wares the old fashion way. Take yourself away from the stress of busy streets and malls to experience traditional Christmas shopping that echo the Victorian roots of our city.
  • When: Saturday, November 18th, 10 AM – 5 PM
    Sunday, November 19th, 10 AM – 4 PM
  • Where: Saanich Commonwealth Place, 4636 Elk Lake Dr
  • Admission: $3 weekend pass

Christmas Vintage, Retro & Collectible Show/Sale

  • What: Travel back in time for a day! This major event will showcase and sell a great mix of exceptional collectibles, textiles, 50’s vintage bags and shoes, updated and original mid-century furniture and art, exotic Thai and Japanese pieces, First Nations collectibles, and more.
  • When: Sunday, November 19th, 9:30 AM – 4 PM
  • Where: Mary Winspear Centre, 2243 Beacon Ave
  • Admission: $4. Children free when accompanied by an adult.

Royal Canadian Legion Branch #91 Christmas Craft Fair & Tea

  • What: This craft fair will have 52 tables groaning with goodies like knitted and baked goods, jewelry, painted glass, purses, leggings, quilts, art pieces, cards, wooden figures and more!
  • When: Sunday, November 19th, 10 AM – 3 PM
  • Where: Royal Canadian Legion #91, 761 Station Ave
  • Admission: Free

Highlands Winter Craft Fair

  • What: Enjoy hot apple cider and fresh baking while you browse through a great selection of handcrafted gifts including:  jewelry, homemade edibles, pottery, clothing and much more!
  • When: Sunday, November 19th, 10 AM – 4 PM
  • Where: Caleb Pike Heritage Park, 1589 Millstream Rd
  • Admission: Free

Christmas Craft Sale and Silent Auction

  • What: This is another great opportunity to shop for Christmas gifts. Come find one of a kind gifts at over 25 craft vendor tables and place your bid at the Silent Auction.
  • When: Saturday, November 25th, 9 AM – 3 PM
  • Where: Cook Street Village Activity Centre, 380 Cook Street
  • Admission: Free

3rd Annual Holiday Craft Fair

  • What: This is a quaint holiday event that the youth in the CREW Employment and Life Skills Program have organized. There will be hot chocolate, apple cider, a door prize draw, holiday music and a festive atmosphere. Vendors include First Nation artists, clothing vendors, gift vendors, jewelry, and many more super cool vendors!
  • When: Saturday, November 25th, 10 AM – 2 PM
  • Where: Quadra Village Community Centre, 901 Kings Rd
  • Admission: By donation (suggested $2 or non-perishable food item)

Doncaster Holiday Craft Fair

  • What: This holiday fair is a community tradition that has been held for over 25 years. There will be over 100 tables of handmade crafts by local artists, featuring treats like cards, jewelry, knitting, woodwork, baked goods, chocolates, ornaments, toys, sewing and more. Food hamper donations are welcome.
  • When: Saturday, November 25th, 10 AM – 3 PM
  • Where: Doncaster Elementary School, 1525 Rowan Street
  • Admission: Free

The Holly Fair

  • What: Check out local vendors showing off their home baked goods, books, handicrafts, gourmet pantry, garden shop and more. Take your chances at the silent auction – but hurry because it closes at 1:30 PM. Morning coffee and a light lunch will also available.Bring your own bags!
  • When: Saturday, November 25th, 9:30 AM – 2 PM
  • Where: St. Mary’s Church, 1973 Cultra Ave, Saanichton
  • Admission: Free

South Park Family School Holiday Craft Market

  • What: Join South Park Family Schools long running tradition that brings together local crafters, artisans, makers, and foodies from the community all together in one place for a unique and fun holiday market supporting one of Victoria’s oldest, and most unique schools. Complete with holiday crafts, local vendors, food, music, and much more! Free parking.
  • When: Sunday, November 26th, 11 AM – 4 PM
  • Where: South Park Family School, 508 Douglas Street
  • Admission: Free

Touch of Salt Spring Craft & Art Show

  • What: The first Touch of Salt Spring Craft & Art Show originated on Saltspring Island in 1991. As the show gained popularity with many artisans coming on-board, the event was moved to the Panorama Recreation Center in North Saanich. Today with over 230 crafters and artisans, it is considered one of the largest attended arts & crafts show on Vancouver Island.
  • When:  Friday, December 1st, 10 AM – 8 PM, Saturday, December 2nd,  10 AM – 5 PM, Sunday, December 3rd, 10 AM – 5 PM
  • Where: Panorama Recreation Centre, 1885 Forest Park Drive (North Saanich)
  • Admission: Admission $5.00 for 3 day pass

The Owl Designer Fair

  • What: This is one of Victoria’s most creative holiday fairs. All items are handmade or upcycled by local artists and designers. Live music, a food truck, espresso cart, and free craft workshops will accompany vendors selling items like locally made handmade soaps and lotions, fashion designers, wood toys, pottery, fine woodworking, leather goods, art, jewelry, home decor and more!
  • When: Friday, December 1st, 6 PM – 10 PM
    Saturday, December 2nd, 10 AM – 5 PM
  • Where: Fernwood NRG, 1240 Gladstone Ave
  • Admission: $3

Oaklands West Coast Winter Market

  • What: Join the Oaklands community for a grand showcase of over 50 vendors from all over Greater Victoria. The market also features live music from West My Friend, Daniel Cook & The Radiators, Vic Horvath, and Jessica Benini Music, an afternoon beer garden featuring Hoyne Brewing Company and Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse, Deadbeetz Food Truck, and the International Women’s Catering Co-Op, a by-donation concession, and activities for kids!
  • When: Saturday, December 2nd, 10 AM – 4 PM
  • Where: Oaklands Community Centre, #1-2827 Belmont Ave
  • Admission: By donation (minimum $3)

37th Annual Dickens Holiday Fair

  • What: You’re invited to take part in this annual James Bay tradition. The fair will feature two large rooms with over 70 local artisans, a café with delicious prepared food and beverages, and a children’s play area.
  • When: Saturday, December 2nd, 10 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Where: James Bay Community School Centre, 140 Oswego Street
  • Admission: $2. Free for children 12 and under

First and Last Chance Christmas Craft Show 2017

  • What: Join this Sidney tradition for their 28th year as the community celebrates the holiday season with an impressive array of creative inspirations from 80+ talented local West Coast artists and artisans. Olde Country Fare, will be there to provide fabulous food while Brad Prevedores, Cary Tardif and Phil Newns regales show-goers with their smooth acoustic guitar music.
  • When: Saturday, December 9th, 10 AM – 5 PM
    Sunday, December 10th, 10 AM – 4 PM

2017 Holiday Market

  • What: Moss Street Market’s 23rd annual holiday market will feature over 80 vendors offering locally-made crafts, cards, art, clothing, jewelry, household items, PLUS winter vegetables, apple cider and much more.
  • When: Saturday, December 9th, 10 AM – 4 PM
    Sunday, December 9th, 10 AM – 4 PM
  • Where: Fairfield Community Place, 1330 Fairfield Rd
  • Admission: Free
