A small 2.4-magnitude earthquake was detected on southern Vancouver Island Monday night.
According to the US Geological Survey, the seismic event occurred at 7:02 p.m. at a depth of 21.8 kilometres.
The tremor’s epicentre was recorded about six kilometres southwest of Langford.
Residents in the West Shore took to social media reportedly feeling the quake. Others said they felt the shake in Victoria and Oak Bay.
No damage has been reported, and no tsunami warning was issued.
