Special weather alert: Victoria is in for some strong winds on Monday morning

Share

This just in: Victorians are in for some gusty weather on Monday morning.

Winds of up to 90 km/h could hit Greater Victoria according to a wind warning statement from Environment Canada.

We can blame the stormy weather on a strong low pressure system that will be bringing strong winds to the south coast of B.C.

“Inner south coast regions including Metro Vancouver, Greater Victoria, Powell River and Comox may see winds of 50 to 70 km/h with higher gusts,” read the weather alert.

“The strength of the wind will depend on the position and depth of the low pressure system. If the system tracks closer to Vancouver Island, then gusts to 90 km/h can be expected.”
