Remembrance Day Ceremonies

  • What: The 11th minute of the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month was one of the most symbolic moments in history, as armistice was signed to signal the end of the Great War. Today, we use it to commemorate the bravery of soldiers, veterans, and those who made the ultimate sacrifice fighting for their country.

Creative Craft Fairs

  • What: Making it’s 40th consecutive appearance, the Creative Craft Fair offers a true extravaganza of outstanding arts, crafts, and demonstrations at this popular 3-day event at Victoria’s Pearkes Rec Centre. Attended by thousands of visitors each year, the fair offers over 125 exhibitors presenting crafts, gourmet food, fine art, photography, clothing, glass art, jewelry, bath and beauty products, woodwork, high-quality imports and much more.

  • When: Friday, Nov 10, 11 AM to 7 PM – Saturday, Nov 11, 10 AM to 5 PM – Sunday, Nov 12, 10 AM to 4 PM

Remembrance Day Commemorations at Royal BC Museum

  • What: The Victoria Children’s Choir will perform music on themes of war and peace plus other, including songs from the time of both World Wars, patriotic Canadian songs, and more recent compositions expressing the common desire for peace and human solidarity
  • Where: Royal BC Museum
  • Time: 12:30pm – 3:00pm.
  • Cost: Free.

Moscow Ballet’s Swan Lake

  • What: Parks Canada is hosting an afternoon of activities to commemorate Remembrance Day at Fort Rodd Hill and Fisgard Lighthouse National Historic Sites.

31st Annual Calico Christmas Market

  • What: Calico Christmas Market celebrates the unique and lively artisan culture on Vancouver Island. Shop over 90 vendors offering high quality handmade items. Bring a food bank donation and enter to win a special prize!

Victoria Grizzlies vs Powell River Kings

  • What: Take in a hockey game as the Victoria Grizzlies host the Powell River Kings
  • When: Saturday November 11 2017 at 7:00 PM
  • Where: The ‘Q’ Centre, 6-1767 Island Highway
  • Admission: $15

U2 Tribute Night – at the Irish Times Pub 

  • What: Celebrate the Irish mega-band U2 at hands-down the the most Irish pub in all of Victoria. It starts at 7pm with 2+ hours of U2 on the BIG sound system and a bit of a show on the TVs. Then some time after 9pm, the show transitions over to the Irish Times’ legendary LIVE music stage with an opening set from U2-2, Victoria’s trusty U2 tribute band, and then rocks well into the wee hours with “20th Century Rocks” – classic rock covers from a variety of artists.

Bachata Dance Instructing

  • What: Take on a new style of dance and a different culture! The fine folks at Bachata Canada invite all friends and family to join them and learn together in a fun-filled cultural environment. You can expect to learn a couple of patterns and techniques each week, and all classes will be progressive and fun.

Basic Pattern Making Techniques

  • What: Calling all fashion lovers! Learn proven fashion industry pattern making techniques to professionally manipulate basic blocks to create your own fashion designs. In this hands-on class students will practice the pattern making skills required for creative style development.

Student & Instructor Art Show
