Woman grabbed near bus stop in Gordon Head

A woman was walking home in the Victoria neighbourhood of Gordon Head on Saturday when an unknown man grabbed her.

The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. on November 25, when the 21-year-old woman was walking home from a bus stop in the area of Shelbournes St/Feltham Rd.

She was walking on a side street, towards her home, when an unknown man approached her from behind. The suspect ran up to her, put her in a bear hug and grabbed her breasts.

The incident lasted a few seconds and, before the woman was able to do anything, the suspect ran away. The suspect was last seen running towards Shelbourne St and the woman was only able to provide a limited description of him.

Suspect Description:

The suspect was possibly Asian, is approximately 5’3” tall, and had dark hair with golden tips which had a golden brown appearance. The suspect was wearing a dark jacket and a black backpack.

“According to the recently released Crime Severity Index, Saanich is one of the safest places in Canada” said A/Sgt. Jereme Leslie. “No matter where you live we encourage people to be aware of their surroundings, carry a cell phone with them and travel in well-lit areas when they can.”
