It appears the precipitation might have taken its toll on a large wall in Oak Bay on Tuesday.
At around 8 am, a six-foot retaining wall near a bus stop on Oak Bay Avenue crumbled sending debris onto the road.
A police dog was brought in to ensure nobody was trapped under the debris.
Traffic is closed heading eastbound on Oak Bay Avenue, and police said it would remain closed for one to two days.
Occupants in nearby buildings have been evacuated, and emergency services are waiting for engineers to asses the scene.
Eastbound traffic will be closed for at least 1 or 2 days due to the rest of the wall potentially being unstable. Thanks for the help @VicPDK9 pic.twitter.com/ZHYX5u9FyU
