Man sought by Nanaimo RCMP in connection with two robberies

An arrest warrant has been issued for 23-year-old Brandon Maxwell Hopkins, wanted in connection with two robberies in Nanaimo on November 29th.

The first robbery occurred just after midnight at a Tim Horton’s. According to police, the suspect walked up to the drive-thru window, brandished a knife and demanded cash from the till.

The second robbery occurred a short distance away at the Scotiabank at approximately 3:15 pm. The suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police released pictures of the suspect from both incidents and were able to identify Hopkins as the alleged suspect.

Hopkins is described as a white man, 5’11”, 250 pounds with black hair and hazel eyes. He has a tattoo on his right forearm of Ashley and Star, and the words ‘Stay True’ spelt on his left forearm.

Police believe he may be armed and advise anyone who sees Hopkins not to approach him and to call 911. If you wish to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
