Tub Christmas at Market Square (ItkasanImages)

It’s beginning to look a lot like Tuba Christmas!

This Saturday at 1:00 PM, holiday sounds will fill the air in downtown Victoria’s Market Square, delighting the city with the 39th annual Tuba Christmas event!

80 musicians playing Tubas and Euphoniums will gather from Victoria and far off places to perform a host of Christmas favourites in festive Market Square.

For the third year in a row, Victoria Symphony Orchestra’s principal tubist Paul Beauchesne will be conducting Tuba Christmas this December.

Paul’s predecessor and former teacher was the late Eugene Dowling who was a supporter of the Times Colonist Christmas Fund and cherished the good accomplished through their efforts.

This event is open to all with admission by donation supporting the Times Colonist Christmas Fund.

Tuba Christmas is in need of volunteers to collect donations and register musicians at the event. To volunteer, please call 250-857-3280 or email pcbeau1@telus.net.
